Ford Fiesta 3 and 5 Door Live And In Color, Retina-Searing Color [Geneva Motor Show]

2009-Ford-Fiesta.jpgLord almighty these cars are bright in person. Ford went ahead and dropped the real deal Ford Fiesta on us and they went out of their way to slather then in colors the Joker would be very proud of. We're pretty excited by the idea of a compact Ford in the market again, though we don't have confirmation yet on the 5 door coming stateside yet. One thing the original (good) Focus was never faulted for was its handling, and it's something Ford has figured out which we're hoping transfers to a potentially more flickable car.  read more »

Ford_Fiesta_Three_Door.jpg The release of information regarding the new Ford Fiesta, the latest global small car platform from Ford, brings lots of good news. Second, it'll be available just about everywhere Ford makes cars, with production in North America for the North American market. Third, the car is still going to be called the Fiesta. Even in the US of A. All of those years of pleading for Ford of Europe products are finally paying off.  read more »

BMW Concept 1-Series tii to Make North American Debut in Chicago [Chicago Auto Show]

bmw_1series_tii.jpgIt debuted at the Tokyo motor show last October. Now, the BMW 1-Series concept that lit a magnesium fire in our naughty bits is coming to Chicago. Officially, it's the BMW Concept 1-Series tii; unofficially, it's several shades of Teutonic radness. Let me count the ways: It recalls the heady days of mid-period BMW road racing, evokes the original (E30) M3 and cribs its halo from the early '70s BMW 2002 tii.  read more »

MINI E Electric Mini Re-Revealed, Now With Technical Images [LA Auto Show]

With a numbered limited edition of only about 500 and a one year lease price of about $820, the MINI E won't be finding a whole lot of takers, but its still a car that will attract a lot of interest. The two seat all-electric car delivers 204 HP and 162 lb-ft of torque and runs on 28 kWh of a 35 kWh capacity battery made of 5,088 individual lithium ion cells and will take the MINI E a full 156 miles before a recharge at it's dedicated wall box is needed — a scant two and a half hours for that job! Acceleration is a brisk but not blinding 8.5 seconds to 62 MPH and top speed comes when you reach 95 MPH. With such low production numbers, this MINI is more of a field test for the real life of an electric car and the results will be used in future vehicle developments. Complete details below along with a nice rant if you scroll all the way down.  read more »

Ford today officially confirmed that it would be producing the Lincoln MKT and equipping it with the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6 engine, good for an estimated 340 horsepower and 340 lb.-ft. of twist, in place of a V8. Unlike the MKT Concept , the production crossover will get three rows and probably fewer Saworvski crystals.
