All Your Embargoes Are Belong To Us -- especially now that the folks over at HummerGuy have gone live with the embargoed information on the Hummer HX Concept. The Hummer Warthog HX Concept will be blowing into Detroit Auto Show this weekend like it was fired out of a missile pod or something. Seriously, we cannot make enough Halo references for this thing. Now that Hummer Forums released photos of the new Hummer concept we can tell you this concept is smaller than the H3 and is powered by an E85 FlexFuel sipping 3.6L SIDI V-6 that moves all four wheels for traction. The boulder-climbing boys over at Hummer have just revealed details and photos of three concept vehicles debuting at SEMA next month based on the Hummer H3. Two are concepts direct from the manufacturer. The first is a new, pre-runner-style H3T called the "Weekend Warrior" rigged with performance and appearance accessories. The second concept, dubbed the H3 X is what Hummer thinks the ultimate H3 should look like. It appears rumors of Hummer's death have been greatly exaggerated, at least when it comes to this year's SEMA show. While GM's off-road brand faces being sold, shut down, or possibly merged with Jeep, Hummer does actually have a pair of new vehicles at dealers in the form of a V-8-powered 2008 H3 Alpha and 2009 H3T crew-cab pickup.
And now the General is showing them off a little with a pair of special concepts at its SEMA stand, along with a third H3 built by our neighbors over at Four Wheeler magazine.

No surprises at the very top, as Lexus leads the pack for a 14th straight year, but two domestic brands — Mercury and Cadillac — again made the top five. In fact, of US automakers, only Chrysler didn't have a brand that placed above the industry average. Full rankings and press release after the jump. read more »

Let's face it, it's a Hummer H3, and that means boxy and kinda cute like a GI Joe toy. The grille on the hood has no function, nor do the air breathers by the windshield. But, with 10.2" of ground clearance and huge knobbly tires, it does carry a certain air of purpose about it.

An extra star for not using chrome plastics. The seats are perfection. With all the legroom in the backseat, it's a nice vehicle for passengers as well. The instrument panel lighting is attractive and easy to read. read more »
