Chrysler threatens to pull plastic plug on Playschool interiors
Last week, the bankruptcy news of an auto parts supplier in Dearborn, Michigan, may have a direct impact on consumers. And it reveals some insight into what goes into the parts of the car that owners see and touch every day. Plastech Engineered Products makes interior components for Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors vehicles. About a week ago, Plastech declared bankruptcy amidst a dispute with Chrysler, as widely reported. As a result, Plastech stopped supplying Chrysler interior components, causing the automaker to run short of parts and shut down four factories temporarily, with the potential to close many more. The standoff didnt last for long before a temporary agreement could be reached and production resumed. read more »

2008 Beijing Auto Show: MG TF Roadster or MG3 SW
Roewe and MG will be present at the 2008 Beijing auto show together on April 20-28 for the first time after SAIC merged Nanjing Auto earlier this month. SAIC said that the MG, Roewe, Roewe 550, Lavida and Shanghai-brand plug-in fuel cell-powered sedan will stay in the spotlight of the show platform. SAIC will bring to the show all its manufacturers of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and auto parts under its brand. Roewe550, MG TF, MG 3SW and MG7 Sport version will be displayed on passenger vehicle platform. Roewe550 is likely to draw more attention as it is the second self-developed own-brand model of SAIC. 2008 Porsche Cayenne GTS meets North America
Following breakfast here at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show , Porsche took the cover off its new Cayenne GTS for the first time on our shores. After emphasizing how well the updated 2007 Cayenne has done in the market, the Stuttgart-based automaker talked about running the 2007 TransSyberia Rallye with what is essentially a stock Cayenne S.
