Now, the officiallly realeased of the 2009 Dodge Ram finally come ahead of the 2008 North America International Auto Show in Detroit next week. The 2009 Dodge Ram remains the underdog in terms of marketing clout and sales volume, but the extensive changes incorporated into the 2009 model should give the contender some serious clout. Powered by a 485 bhp eight cylinder engine, this impressive race car has been designed to compete in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) beginning in 2009. We've been waiting for the real Laguna Coupe to drop ever since we saw the Renault Laguna concept at Frankfurt last year. Pleasantly, the coupe retains the smooth lines and sharp features of the concept version, only slightly refined for the driving public. Though we're partial to the Laguna GT wagon , this Laguna features the new 240-horspower 3.5-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic. We'll take one in diesel with a six-speed manual, thanks. In our discussion of the all-time greatest liveries there were a lot of mentions of famous Lotus paint schemes (BRG & Yellow, Team Essex Blue & Red, JPS Black & Gold), but the Elan Sprint of the early 1970s didn't get a mention. This was an oversight on our part, because this limited run Elan was sprinting to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds in 1971 (approximately the same as a new WRX). Lotus is paying homage to the Elan with 40 RHD Lotus Exige Sprints done up in the Solar Yellow (or Persian blue) and Alpine White paint scheme.  read more »

We already knew the 2007 Buick Riviera Concept would be here for the Detroit Auto Show, but the China born concept made it's US debut here last night. Originally unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2007, the Buick Riviera Concept was shown off to press by Ed Welburn and the gang at the Max M. Fisher Theater ahead of the show. We were hoping for a green light for US production from Mr. Welburn, but nothing like that was mentioned. Oh well, we can dream can't we?  read more »
