The 2009 Honda Pilot shares a platform with the '07 Acura MDX, starting at a lower price, with simpler features, seating 8 people. It also features a new Variable Cylinder Management system, which means the engine, can run on 6, 4 or 3 cylinders. The looks draw heavily on classic American SUV design themes, but improve upon them in a clean, contemporary way. The annual Nashville International Auto Show 2008 rolls into town from Friday and runs through Sunday, featuring hundreds of new cars, trucks, vans, crossovers and sport utility vehicles at the Nashville Convention Center.
Among highlights of the show will be several concept vehicles and new models that are not yet available in dealer showrooms, including the new 2009 Nissan Maxima that will be built at the automaker's plant in Smyrna. read more »
What has been an auto-show trend for some time all but ran away with Detroit's North American International Auto Show this year, and the trend will undoubtedly continue in Chicago and New York in the coming months. American and foreign manufacturers painted the town green with talk of their current fuel misers, future alternatives and no small amount of wishful thinking. To separate the truly green from the merely envious, I ran around the show floor in two videos one to the left and one below in which I rated many of the concept and production offerings with green thumb up or green thumb down.
