Mitsubishi will show off the facelifted 2009 Mitsubishi Galant at this year's Chicago Auto Show. In addition to the mildly revised sheet metal, the car also gets new taillights and a new grille. The Galant will come in four-cylinder ES and Sport editions, V6 Sport edition and line-topping Ralliart. The Ralliart V6 is of the 3.8-liter MIVEC variety and is good for 258 horsepower. The V6 in the V6 Sport (pictured) is good for 230 horsepower and the four-cylinder model is the 2.5-liter MIVEC that produces approximately 160 horsepower. Press release below the jump. read more »

The electric Mitsubishi electric i MIEV continues to evolve and this year it is no different at the New York Auto Show. The i MIEV has made some changes since our last visit with the concept. Now MIEV means Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle, rather than Mitsubishi In-Wheel Electric Vehicle. This concept has a 16 kW lithium-ion battery with a 100-mile range that recharges overnight from a standard home outlet or dryer-style outlet. A 63 HP motor churns the vehicle along. Add Audi to the list of automakers who plan to add an electric vehicle to their lineup. The German automaker's top executive says Audi sees tremendous opportunities for electric vehicles and will roll one out within 5 to 10 years, promising "by then we will offer cars without exhaust emissions." "Electric cars offer great opportunities, which we have already seized on," Chairman Rupert Stadler said in an interview with German magazine Welt am Sonntag . According to a Google translation of the interview, Audi is devoting a tremendous level of resources to the project. " Our research capacity within the group is larger than many competitors," Stadler said. Audi has bet heavily on clean diesel technology being an effective way to improve fuel economy without sacrificing performance - its gorgeous R8 TDI concept car offers 500 horsepower and a stump-pulling 737 pound-feet of torque, and the R10 diesel racer has dominated Le Mans. But Stadler says he expects electric drive trains to join diesels in dominating the market within a decade - particularly in urban areas. So what would an electric Audi look like? read more »

The hot hatch market has pretty much been a two horse race to date, Volkswagens iconic GTi or Subarus WRX but enter the tough new kid on the block, the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart , and thats all changed. Mitsubishi s product planning guy, and the man responsible for getting its product to market, is Chris Maxted and hes very confident the new Lancer Ralliart Sportback and Sedan will sell at least 150 a month, with supply constrained by the availability of the sensational dual clutch, SST gearbox. read more »
Two new variants of the Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck wil be launched by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia sometime in June 2008.
Complementing the existing 2.5 liter 4X4 Triton double cab manual and automatic versions will be a 4X2 version of the 2.5 liter double cab model with manual transmission, and a 3.2 liter 4X4 double cab model with an automatic transmission.
The 2.5 liter 4X2 Mitsubishi Triton is estimated to retail at approximately RM60,000, while the 3.2 liter 4X4 automatic has an indicative price of about RM100,000.
The exisitng Mitsubishi Triton 2.5 liter 4X4 goes for RM91,782.00 OTR with insurance for the automatic model, and RM86,782.00 for the manual model.
The 3.2 liter engine specifications have not been announced at the moment, but we can expect it to be similiar to the engine specifications of the 3.2 liter turbodiesel Triton in other countries. read more »
Mitsubishi Power Systems Europe, Ltd. (MPSE) this week launched its European Headquarters in London, where it has been established as the European subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI).
The company has been created in order to tap into fast growing demand for power generation equipment to support both new build plants and improvements to existing plants across the UK and continental Europe, in both conventional and renewable power generation.
MPSE has chosen to headquarter in London both to grow its presence in the domestic market and in order to use the UK as a springboard into Europe, North Africa and the Gulf.
From its UK base, the company will focus on securing contracts to support construction of new thermal power generation plants. read more »
